Course description: Functional definition of urban transport systems. Spatial and temporal transport demand factors, Collecting, estimating and
validating traffic data. Estimating internal and external travel costs. Estimating queue and infrastructure capacity. Estimating
congestion and driving time. Managing traffic system by ITS technologies (fixed, adaptive, based on various logics (fuzzy,
etc.). Managing incidents on urban transport network. Managing roadworks, regular and irregular events. Concept of restricted
access to urban areas. Concept of parking supply management. Concept of managing public transport in urban areas. Determining
travel information, pre-travel information, and real-time information services. Determining objective function in urban transport
system. Optimizing the system according to objective function. Determining operational strategies for managing traffic system.
Determining operational strategies related to temporal and spatial characteristics of the urban environment.
