Course description: The objective of the course is for students to further develop their abilities of comprehension, as well as written and oral
expression in English for Traffic and Transport through various reading, writing, listening and speaking exercises, and through
the study of more complex grammatical patterns. Students are also taught how to use various reference books, especially dictionaries
and grammar handbooks. Topics include all the specific areas of the study at the Faculty of Traffic and Transport Sciences
(Road Traffic and Transport, Railway Traffic and Transport, Air Traffic and Transport, Water Traffic and Transport, Postal
Traffic, Information-communications Traffic, Urban Traffic and Transport, Intelligent Transport Systems and Logistics). This
course focuses on the acquisition and practical use of traffic-related vocabulary and an examination of several representative
authentic texts, with the aim of allowing students to develop fundamental skills of reading critically. Emphasis is placed
on class discussions and active class participation.
