The first workshop of the HRZZ research project DLASIUT

From 6 to 10 September, the first workshop of the HRZZ research project “Development of Learning Agent-based Systems for Improved Urban Traffic Control” (DLASIUT) was held. The workshop was attended by members of the research team, experts from the industry and academic community, and students.

The public part of the workshop was held on Monday, September 6, 2021, and began with a welcoming speech by the Vice Dean Assist. Prof. Marko Šoštarić and project leader Assoc. Prof. Edouard Ivanjko. After the introductory part, members of the research team presented their results achieved by working on the project, including a discussion with experts present at the workshop live or remotely.

The other four days of the workshop were used by the project team members for a more detailed review of the results achieved on the DLASIUT project with the creation of guidelines for continuing work on the project. At the same time, foreign researchers on the project Prof. Daniela Koltovska-Nečoska (Faculty of Technical Sciences, St. Kliment Ohridski University – Bitola, Northern Macedonia), Prof. René Schumann (University of Applied Science Western Switzerland (HES-SO), Switzerland), and Prof. Ivana Dusparić (TCD, Dublin, Ireland) held a series of lectures to transfer knowledge related to the creation of calibrated microscopic traffic simulation models, the application of structured simulations in checking the correctness of learning systems and the application of multi-agent systems in traffic light intersections.

The official language of the workshop was English due to the participation of foreign scientists in the DLASIUT project.
