SUMO – Digital twin of the Geneva Motorway

We are honored to announce the new results of our colleague and project member Krešimir Kušić from the department of Intelligent Transport Systems, who is currently in Switzerland on longer mobility. In the SILab group laboratory (HES-SO, Valais Wallis) under the mentorship of Professor René Schumann, colleague Kušić developed the Digital Twin (digital twin) of the Geneva motorway section synchronized (in real-time) with traffic data collected in real-time from traffic counters.

In order to promote digital twin technology in transport systems and to emphasize the importance of open data sets that are updated in real-time (Open data platform mobility Switzerland) and microscopic traffic models, the motorway model made in SUMO simulator and source code is publicly available at the SUMO website here.
