Course description:
The Course consists of three main parts. Part I covers key aspects of logistic systems, where macro and micro logistic organizations, concepts and design of distribution networks are discussed. Part II is divided in two units. The first unit encompasses introduction in mathematical modeling: definition of models in general, implementation of mathematical models in solving logistic problems, optimization and modeling process. The second unit deals with modeling of logistic systems: resource allocation model, transportation model, location model, model of distribution network. Part III refers to basics of heuristics, heuristic methods and algorithms, as well as implementation in solving logistic problems.
