Horizon2020

Horizon 2020 comprises the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), a portion of the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), and has a budget of 78.6 billion euros.

Horizon 2020 should help achieve the goals of key EU strategic documents concerning research, technological development and innovation – Europa 2020, Innovation Union, and the European Research Area (ERA). The programme has been launched to provide solutions and answers to the economic crisis, ensure investment in future business projects and development, address issues relating to citizens’ material security and the environment, and strengthen the EU’s global position in research, innovation and technologies.
