The work within the QoE4VR project is divided into stages. Namely, there are three major milestones along the way: (1) establish the test environment, (2) conduct the subjective tests with the subjects and (3) analyze and publish the results. Continue reading to find out more about the tasks within the specific stages that will lead us towards achieving the milestones.
Milestone no. 1: Establishing the test environment
Stage 1.1: Analyze the available hardware resources (PC components and head mounted displays for VR) and acquire the necessary components
Stage 1.2: Create the ‘lifelike settings’ in our laboratory where the tests will take place
Stage 1.3: Choose the content which will be used for testing
Stage 1.4: Check for different types of quality degradation that may appear within VR applications under changing network conditions
Stage 1.5: Design a questionnaire that will be used for interviews with the subjects
Milestone no. 2: Conduct the subjective tests
Stage 2.1: Based on the type and number of necessary tests, define the minimum number of required test subjects for the experiment
Stage 2.2: Invite students of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences to participate in the experiment (note that several students will be actively involved in all stages of the project as a part of their master thesis work)
Stage 2.3: After the experiments, conduct the interviews with the test subjects and gather the data
Milestone no. 3: Data analysis and publishing the results
Stage 3.1: Conduct statistical analysis of the data and draw conclusions from the results
Stage 3.2: Prepare and publish at least one conference paper and one journal paper
Note that the project dissemination is scheduled for the entire project duration (this web page, flyers, YouTube…).
