First conference held

Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences University of Zagreb organized the First conference of the SORDITO project (16th January 2015). The venue of the conference was University campus Borongaj where numerous experts and scientists from the field, as well as students of the University, expressed the interest about the project.

The conference was thematically divided on two parts. In the first part of the conference, the project partners (Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences and Mireo d.d.) and the Department of Intelligent Transportation System took the opportunity to present their profile and previous work. The focus of the second part of the conference was on the time dependent vehicle routing problem and the SORDITO’s approach on solving the problem.

It is noteworthy to highlight the presentations of the project team members in which detailed descriptions of phases of project implementation were given. This included detail elaboration of speed profile computation and categorization, speed profile comparison in urban and suburban areas, speed profile integration and presentation via web application, traffic flow measurements of chosen locations and results verification.

The presentations were followed by almost one hour discussion motivated by the questions and comments from the audience, which is a good indicator of the level of interest of experts who attended the workshop.
