SORDITO presents itself on European Space Expo
On annual European Space Expo 2015 exhibition (12.-21. July 2015, Zagreb, Croatia) SORDITO project team members presented their work. The presenter was Tomislav Erdelić, mag. ing. el. techn. inf. with the topic Using Historical GPS Data for Modeling Speed Profiles on the Road Network of Croatia.
In the presentation, Tomislav described the data processing which was done over the historical GPS data collected during the period from 2009 to 2014. The objective was to compute speed profiles for road segments in digital map of Croatia. Different methods for computing speed profiles are examined on Jadranski bridge in Zagreb. Difference between the days in a week and months in a year are analyzed. Two specific seasonality examples in Croatia are presented, in which significant differences in speeds occurs between summer months and the rest of the year. Based on computed speed profiles congestions placements and intensity during the day for course Zagrebačka – Ljubljanska – Slavonska are presented.
