Sustainable Urban Mobility Boost Smart Toolbox Upgrade (SUMBooST2) is supported by EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.
The SUMBooST2 project has entered its final phase. All research and results were successfully validated, and the project team approached the identification of traffic problems in the pilot cities. Traffic problems were identified using the methodology developed within the project. Focus groups for each city were established to confirm the validity of identified problems and proposed traffic solutions. Focus groups consisted of relevant stakeholders from the transport system of each city.
On Thursday, December 2, 2021, the first online meeting for each focus group was held separately where the identified problems and potential solutions were discussed. Constructive discussions were held within the focus groups after which the project team got a clearer insight into the opinions and views of local stakeholders. Discussion will certainly contribute to the final traffic solutions.
EIT Urban Mobility aims to accelerate solutions and the transition towards a user-centric, integrated and truly multimodal transport system. As the leading European innovation community for urban mobility, EIT Urban Mobility works to avoid fragmentation by facilitating collaboration between cities, industry, academia, research and innovation to solve the most pressing mobility challenges of cities. Using cities as living labs, its industry, research and university partners will demonstrate how new technologies can work to solve real problems in real cities by transporting people, goods and waste in smarter ways.
