Department of Intelligent Transport Systems

Visit of Prof. René Schumann

From the 01. to the 05. July Prof. René Schumann from the Institute of Information SystemsUniversity of Applied Science Western Switzerland (HES-SO), Switzerland visited the Department of intelligent transportation systems on the Faculty of transport and traffic sciences, University of Zagreb under the University of Zagreb and project Advanced methods and methodologies in data science and cooperative systems (DATACROSS) mobility program. The visit was hosted by Assoc. prof. Edouard Ivanjko. During his visit, Prof. René Schumann had a series of discussions about his work regarding structural simulation testing of complex adaptive control systems, application of multi-agent systems and traffic demand modeling based on user behavior. During these discussions, he presented his current research topic and results from his project “Behaviour driven demand modeling (BEDDEM)” within a lecture under the title “Behaviour driven mobility demand modeling”. He also held an invited lecture titled “Systematic Testing for Adaptive Systems: Data Science testing Machine Learning an Outlook”. This visit is a result of the ongoing cooperation and two visits of Martin Gregurić, Ph.D. who is working with Assoc. prof. Edouard Ivanjko on problems related to traffic control on urban motorways with the emphasis of applying advanced methods of machine learning for traffic control. This visit was also used for planning of future cooperation of topics related to intelligent transport systems and joint research project proposals.
