Paper – Simulational Analysis of Two Controllers for Variable Speed Limit Control

The paper of department members assoc. prof. Edouard Ivanjko, Krešimir Kušić, mag.ing.traff. and Martin Gregurić, Ph.D. under the title “Simulational Analysis of Two Controllers for Variable Speed Limit Control” has been accepted for publication in the international scientific journal Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers – Transport. It is available in Ahead of Print with DOI: 10.1680/jtran.19.00069. This paper was made with the help of former master student Nino Korent, and presents the results of a detailed analysis of two controllers for Variable Speed Limit Control (Simple Proportional Speed Controller and Mainline Virtual Metering) regarding traffic and environmental parameters. The paper is the result of a yearlong work of the authors and common research goal to implement a traffic control system for urban motorways with the goal to improve the Level of Service and reduce the environmental impact of road traffic. We all congratulate on the accepted journal paper.
