Lecture title: “Make it real” – Using the Swiss traffic data platform to create a synchronized (real-time) digital twin of the Geneva motorway section.
The Swiss Traffic Data Platform is a new platform for road traffic data in Switzerland. It supports the provision and exchange of traffic data and enables a wider use of the data. This platform creates the basis for new applications in the field of real-time road traffic information. The aim of the “Swiss Traffic Data Platform – First Steps Workshop” is to introduce and raise awareness of the traffic data platform, to demonstrate its benefits and to promote data exchange between stakeholders. In addition to the Swiss platform and its specific technical applications, the experiences of different users will be discussed with experts from other countries. Our colleague Krešimir Kušić, M.Sc. Traff. Eng. and Professor René Schumann (HES-SO Valais-Wallis, SILab – Smart Infrastructure Laboratory) will present research results titled “Make it real” – Using the Swiss Traffic Data Platform to create a synchronized (real-time) digital twin of the Geneva motorway section with a focus on the potential applications of such a microscopic live simulation model in traffic engineering. The research results were obtained as part of the research of colleague Krešimir Kušić, who is currently working as a research fellow at HES-SO Valais, Switzerland, in SI-Lab group led by Professor René Schumann as part of the SWISS GOVERNMENT EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP and the HRZZ research project “Development of systems based on learning agents to improve urban traffic management (DLASIUT) “. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 9 am to 5 pm at the Hotel Mövenpick, Av. de Rhodanie 4, 1007 Lausanne.
