Our newest paper titled “Motorway Bottleneck Probability Estimation in Connected Vehicles Environment Using Speed Transition Matrices” has been accepted for publication and published in the international scientific journal Sensors, Special Issue “Intelligent Vehicular Networks and Communication Systems”. The paper is freely available in Open Access with DOI: 10.3390/10.3390/s22072807.
This paper was written in the co-authorship of assoc. prof. Edouard Ivanjko, prof. Tonči Carić, and Ph.D. students Leo Tišljarić and Filip Vrbanić.
The paper presents a speed transition matrix based model for bottleneck probability estimation on motorways. The method is based on the computation of the speed at the vehicle transition point between consecutive motorway segments, which forms a traffic pattern that is represented using transition matrices.
