On October 9, 2023, Leo Tišljarić, M.Sc., a member of the Department for Intelligent Transport Systems, became the first person to successfully defend his doctoral dissertation following the Scandinavian model on the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences. His dissertation, titled “Road traffic state classification based on speed transition matrix,” was conducted under the guidance of prof. Tonči Carić, PhD. The committee consisted of:
- Assoc. Prof. Luka Novačko, PhD (Chair), Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb
- Tomislav Šmuc, PhD, Permanent Scientific Advisor (external member, Ruđer Bošković Institute)
- Assoc. Prof. Edouard Ivanjko, PhD, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb.
The committee recommended granting the highest honor, summa cum laude, for this doctoral work.
