EUROCONTROL’s ATM Simulator Specialist visits Department of Aeronautics

On Monday, June 13, 2022, Philippe Bouchaudon, EUROCONTROL’s ATM Simulator Specialist, visited the Department of Aeronautics. The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences’ Department of Aeronautics has a good relationship with EUROCONTROL which began in 2019 when the faculty started using EUROCONTROL’s Escape Light simulator for both educational and scientific purposes.

Since 2020, the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences has developed more than 100 exercises on the Escape Light simulator which were used for educational training of the ATCO students of the Department of Aeronautics and for the SESAR AISA project, in which the validation of the experiments was done on Escape Light simulator with the Skyguide, Swiss ANSP.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, Philippe Bouchaudon held a lecture on EUROCONTROL’s ongoing research and technology development in which he talked about the latest Escape simulator developments and how they could be used in scientific research.

Hopefully, this visit will be one of many and will help us build a great, long-lasting relationship between EUROCONTROL and the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences’ Department of Aeronautics.
