Researchers from 31 European countries have launched the European project DIGital FORensics: evidence Analysis via Intelligent Systems and Practices (DigForASP). During the four (4) years, the project will create one of the largest intergovernmental networks for coordinating the European field of scientific and technical research. This goal is supported by the Cooperation Program in Science and Technology (COST) and is funded under the EU program Horizon 2020.
The first meeting of the various working groups organized by the University of Cadiz and Évori took place in Évora (Portugal) from 8 to 10 November, there was also the head of the Department for Information and Communication Traffic Full. Prof. Dragan Peraković, Ph.D. The aim of the meeting was to prepare initial project objectives and intermediate strategies by introducing mathematicians and engineers into digital forensic science as well as legal, technical and criminological aspects.
In addition, the first international DigForASP meeting in Évora sought to increase the number of participating countries in its network and the immediate involvement of national and international security relevant institutions.
This network will encourage synergy between security forces, related agencies, EU institutions, and neighboring countries, and associations and companies in the field. The ultimate goal is to establish a solid network for the introduction of new technologies into the digital forensic analysis that helps improve the process and achieve more direct and effective results.
