The article of authors Ivan Jovović, Dragan Peraković and Siniša Husnjak entitled "The Impact of Using Modern Information and Communication Equipment and Services on Driving Safety" provides relevant insight into the issue of distraction factors that affect drivers with an emphasis on those caused by using modern information and communication equipment and services. With the development and application of modern information and communication equipment and services, global society has undergone significant development and progress in everyday life. Along the positive, the negative aspects of usage have evolved. One of the problem is the new sources of driver’s distraction from driving to something else, which ultimately results in a serious, growing daily threat to traffic safety. Simultaneously with the development of modern information and communication equipment and services the number of distracters (mobile terminal devices, laptops, smart watches, and others) have increased as well, which also reduce the level of security and affect the quality of driving. With the increase in participation and ownership of mobile terminal devices, as well as the implementation of modern multimedia information and communication systems in vehicles, this problem will further escalate in the coming years. The unfavourable factor comes from the fact that a distraction factors influenced by using modern information and communication equipment and services belong to bio-mechanical, cognitive, auditory and visual categories distraction, which directly affects the function of man which are most important for a successful and safe operation of the vehicle. This paper provides insight into the issue of distraction factors that affect the driver with an emphasis on those caused by using modern information and communications equipment and services.
