DI DI Dr. Markus Brillinger gave a lecture entitled "Assistive Technologies in Production for People with Disabilities" for students of the undergraduate study of Transport, majoring in Information and Communication Transport. During the lecture, Dr. Brillinger presented the students with information and communication solutions developed by his organization to help people with various disabilities in the production process environment.
Dr. Markus Brillinger leads the Cognitive Production Systems research group at Pro2Future, an Austrian research center that investigates digitization in future production systems. His research has won numerous awards and recognitions. As educating future engineers is one of his passions, he is a lecturer at two universities. Furthermore, he is a member of various industry networks that support the application of industry research. After studying at the Technical University of Graz, he received his doctorate in the field of additive manufacturing and developed a new, now patented, 3D printing process that was orders of magnitude ahead of all known technologies in terms of production speed. While still working on his PhD, Dr. Markus Brillinger built a start-up in the field of production optimization. After his doctorate in 2018, he moved to the Pro2Future research center, and from 2020 he heads one of the five departments dealing with cognitive production systems, which involve sensory, thinking, and independent action. His current research topics are the application of artificial intelligence technologies in production processes and resource-efficient production.
