On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the spectacular Infobip Alpha Centauri campus became a hub of curiosity and innovation thanks to the Innovation Day 2025 event, organized by Stemi Education as part of the StemWave – School for the Future initiative. Among numerous participants, the Department of Information and Communication Traffic (ZIKP) from the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences stood out by introducing over a thousand primary and secondary school students from all over Croatia to the challenging world of modern technologies.

Throughout the day-long event, the new undergraduate program in Information and Communication Traffic (IKP) was presented. Through conversations and live demonstrations, attendees learned how future engineers are educated to manage digital infrastructure, develop 5G/6G networks, design advanced cybersecurity solutions, and conceptualize smart cities. In parallel, a simulation titled No Mobile Phones While Driving allowed young participants to experience firsthand how concentration drops and accident risks increase when texting behind the wheel of a virtual vehicle.

This blend of education, science popularization, and informal networking proved to be an ideal way to connect academia, industry, and future students. Participants gained new insights into digital transport solutions, discovered career opportunities in the field of information and communication traffic, and established contact with their potential future professors.

ZIKP expresses sincere gratitude to Stemi Education for the excellent organization and dedication, and to Infobip for their hospitality and inspiring environment. Participation in Innovation Day 2025 once again reaffirmed the mission of our Department: to inspire new generations to turn scientific discoveries into innovations that lead to safer, smarter, and more sustainable transport for tomorrow.
