The Department became a member of the International Telecommunication Society (ITS). ITS is a association of scientists and experts in the fields of information and communication traffic and related technologies from the private and academic sector. ITS is an independent, nonprofit organization that currently has about 400 members globally, including Deutsche Telekom, AT&T, Orange, Telecom Italia and TIM Celular S.A.
